Marcus Hugh Reynolds
Marcus Hugh Reynolds
Marcus Hugh Reynolds, 84, of Selbyville and formerly of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away Saturday, March 30, 2024 at his home. Born October 4, 1939 in Poolville, TX he was the son of the late Hugh and Connie Reynolds.
As a military brat he lived in several areas of the world including Alaska and Tokyo. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He moved to Colorado Springs in 1961 and attended, and graduated from Colorado College. After graduating, he worked at Penrose Hospital in the microbiology department until he retired.
Marcus was asked by the Mensa Society to join, as his IQ was 140. He very nicely declined stating he did not need to be a part of any group to know he was smart.
He of course enjoyed reading but also camping, traveling, and sweets. He was known to point out different pastry shops on his bus trips to make sure he could return to sample goodies. As such, he developed a very good ability to make fantastic scones and cookies.
He is survived by his wife, LaVonna who he married 3/28/1964 they were able to celebrate 60 years together. His daughter, Rhonda (Tim); sister, Sharon (Jim); grandsons, Nicholas and Eric (Nicole); great-grandchildren, Olivia, Teresa, and Vada; extended family, Joan, John, and Joy Hart; his niece, Debbie and nephew, David.
Many will miss his dry sense of humor. His way of chuckling and enjoyment of gifts, that life brought.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to Vitas Hospice and the Caregivers who provided not only Mr. Reynolds but the family with amazing love and care.
