Evelyn J. Panos
Evelyn J. Panos of Colorado Springs peacefully passed away on July 13, 2024, at the age of 83, surrounded by her devoted family. Born on June 14, 1941, in Algonac, Michigan to Milton H. and Margaret M. (Weiland) Buchler, Evelyn proudly graduated from the University of Michigan in 1963. She was a lifelong fan of Wolverine football, Go Blue! Evelyn married John V. Panos on November 30, 1963, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and they moved to Black Forest in 1979 after several years in California.
Evelyn enriched the community through her vibrant presence as an esteemed member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, finding joy in singing with the choir. A highlight of her time in choir was performing at Carnegie Hall in 2019, an experience she cherished as the "Trip of a lifetime." Known for her warm spirit and dedication, she delighted in arranging gatherings and activities for the church.
Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Margaret Buchler, her brother Larry A. Buchler, and her beloved husband, John V. Panos. She is survived by her sister Darlene, her sons William, John, and Gregory, daughters-in-law Marva, Amanda, Jeanie, and Terri, as well as her adoring grandchildren Matthew, Cameron, Chelsea, and John “Jack”. Evelyn also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and several friends she considered family.
Evelyn will be remembered fondly for her kindness, strength, and unwavering faith that touched the lives of all who knew her.
