Breathe on Me, Breath of God
UMH #420
WORDS: Edwin Hatch, 1878 (Jn. 20:22)

1. Breathe on me, Breath of God, fill me with life anew, that I may love what Thou dost love, and do what Thou wouldst do.

2. Breathe on me, Breath of God, until my heart is pure, until with Thee I will one will, to do and to endure.

3. Breathe on me, Breath of God, till I am wholly Thine, till all this earthly part of me glows with Thy fire divine.

4. Breathe on me, Breath of God, so shall I never die, but live with Thee the perfect life of Thine eternity.

Scripture Reading
Matthew 7:24-27
Norm Thom

“Everyone, then, who hears these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock. The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall because it had been founded on rock. And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not act on them will be like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell—and great was its fall!”

Prayer Song
Take Time to Be Holy
v. 1 UMH #395
WORDS: William D. Longstaff, ca. 1882 (1 Pet. 1:16)

1. Take time to be holy, speak oft with thy Lord; abide in Him always, and feed on His word.
Make friends of God’s children, help those who are weak, forgetting in nothing His blessing to seek.

Pastoral Prayer, Silent Prayer & The Lord’s Prayer
Pastor Donnie Sturgill

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name; Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those to trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the Kingdom, and the Power and the Glory forever.

Prayer Response
Take Time to Be Holy
v. 2 UMH #395
WORDS: William D. Longstaff, ca. 1882 (1 Pet. 1:16)

2. Take time to be holy, the world rushes on; spend much time in secret with Jesus alone. By looking to Jesus, like Him thou shalt be; thy friends in thy conduct His likeness shall see.

Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow
UMH #94

Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; Praise God, all creatures here below: Alleluia! Alleluia!  Praise God, the source of all our gifts! Praise Jesus Christ, whose power uplifts! Praise the Spirit, Holy Spirit! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

Scripture Reading
Jeremiah 22:1, 3, 5
Norm Thom

Thus says the Lord: Go down to the house of the king of Judah, and speak there this word,

Thus says the Lord: Act with justice and righteousness and deliver from the hand of the oppressor anyone who has been robbed. And do no wrong or violence to the alien, the orphan, and the widow, or shed innocent blood in this place.

But if you will not heed these words, I swear by myself, says the Lord, that this house shall become a desolation.

Our Mission: God’s Mission - Consequences

*Affirmation of Faith
We are a Pilgrim People
Pastor Donnie Sturgill
Adapted from the Basis of Union of the Uniting Church in Australia
from Uniting in Worship 2

We believe in one God,
the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
We proclaim Jesus Christ, the crucified and risen One,
confessing him as Lord to the glory of God the Father.

In the fellowship of the Holy Spirit,
we acclaim Jesus as the Lord of the Church,
the Head over all things, the beginning of a new creation.

We acknowledge that we live and work
between the time of Christ’s death and resurrection
and the final consummation of all things which he will bring.

We are a pilgrim people,
always on the way towards a promised goal;
on the way Christ feeds us with word and sacraments,
and we have the gift of the Spirit
in order that we may not lose the way.

We will live and work within the faith and unity
of the one holy catholic and apostolic Church,
bearing witness to that unity which is both Christ’s gift and his will.

We affirm that every member of the Church
is engaged to confess the faith of Christ crucified.

Together with all the people of God,
we will serve the world for which Christ died.
And we await with hope the day of the Lord Jesus.

In Christ There is No East or West
UMH #548
WORDS: Sts. 1, 2, 4, John Oxenham, 1913;
st. 3, Laurence Hull Stookey, 1987 (Gal. 3:28)
St. 3 © 1989 The United Methodist Publishing House

1. In Christ there is no east or west, in Him no south or north; but one great fellowship of love
throughout the whole wide earth.

2. In Christ shall true hearts everywhere their high communion find; His service is the golden cord close binding humankind.

3. In Christ is neither Jew nor Greek, and neither slave nor free; both male and female heirs are made, and all are kin to me.

4. In Christ now meet both east and west, in Him meet south and north; all Christly souls
are one in Him throughout the whole wide earth.
