WORDS: Stuart K. Hine, 1953

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name; Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those to trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the Kingdom, and the Power and the Glory forever.

Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow
UMH #94
Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; praise God, all creatures here below: alleluia! Alleluia! Praise God, the source of all our gifts! Praise Jesus Christ, whose power uplifts! Praise the spirit, Holy Spirit! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
Scripture Reading
Luke 11:1-13
Nancy Gehrung
He was praying in a certain place, and after he had finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, as John taught his disciples.” So he said to them, “When you pray, say:
Father, may your name be revered as holy. May your kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins, for we ourselves forgive everyone indebted to us. And do not bring us to the time of trial.”
And he said to them, “Suppose one of you has a friend, and you go to him at midnight and say to him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread, for a friend of mine has arrived, and I have nothing to set before him.’ And he answers from within, ‘Do not bother me; the door has already been locked, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot get up and give you anything.’ I tell you, even though he will not get up and give him anything out of friendship, at least because of his persistence he will get up and give him whatever he needs.
“So I say to you, Ask, and it will be given to you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you. For everyone who asks receives, and everyone who searches finds, and for everyone who knocks, the door will be opened. Is there anyone among you who, if your child asked fora fish, would give a snake instead of a fish? Or if the child asked for an egg, would give a scorpion? If you, then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”
Prayer for Illumination
Leader: May the words of my mouth,
People: and the meditations of all of our hearts
All: be acceptable in your sight, O Lord our rock and our redeemer.
Psalm 19:14

People: And so shall we.
Leader: Today is the day God embraces all hues of humanity, delights in diversity and difference, favors solidarity transforming strangers into friends.
People: And so shall we.

Refrain
All things bright and beautiful, all creatures great and small, all things wise and wonderful: the Lord God made them all.
1. Each little flower that opens, each little bird that sings, God made their glowing colors, and made their tiny wings.
Refrain
All things bright and beautiful, all creatures great and small, all things wise and wonderful: the Lord God made them all.
2. The purple-headed mountains, the river running by, the sunset and the morning that brightens up the sky.

All things bright and beautiful, all creatures great and small, all things wise and wonderful: the Lord God made them all.
3. The cold wind in the winter, the pleasant summer sun, the ripe fruits in the garden: God made them every one.

All things bright and beautiful, all creatures great and small, all things wise and wonderful: the Lord God made them all.
4. God gave us eyes to see them, and lips that we might tell how great is God Almighty, who has made all things well.

All things bright and beautiful, all creatures great and small, all things wise and wonderful: the Lord God made them all.
