Liturgy

Our November Mission is ROCKY MOUNTAIN KIDS.
With over 29 years of service to teens, we have four community-based residential homes in Colorado Springs. We also have 1 high-level foster home for boys  ages10-13 as well.
The children and teens ranging from ages 10-20 are supported by a caring staff in a safe environment where they can heal from the abuse and neglect in their past. They are given opportunities to participate in extracurricular activities, including school sports and enrichment programs. The teens are also provided with life skills training, educational support, and assistance for employment. These skills will help them succeed in life, whether their goal is to return home or emancipate and live independently. We see these kids’ trauma and help repair the wounds.
One of the homes even has an innovative apartment program, where a young man emancipating into self-sufficiency can use the upstairs apartment and "try out" his new independent status to prepare to transition out of our homes.
Typically, the length of stay for a teen in our program varies from 6 months to 2 years.
In December, we have a hands-on mission project of decorating Christmas stockings for the RMKids during Fellowship time. The exact Sunday will be announced.

Grocery Cards

It’s always a great time to purchase grocery cards from the church. They can be used at all Safeway and KingSoopers stores, in addition to using them for your own grocery shopping. They are as simple to use as a credit or debit card. You can purchase grocery cards for $25, $50, or $100. The cards never expire, and you can use them multiple times until the entire balance on the card has been spent. Best of all, the church makes 5% of the face value of each card sold.
TESLA

A number of students attending the TESLA school across the
street from the church have some needs that you can help supply.
They need food cards, deodorant (boys and girls scents), hairbrushes, toothpaste/toothbrushes, hoodies/sweaters (all adult sizes),
and boys’ and girls’ t-shirts and long sleeve t-shirts (all adult sizes).
They have also asked for help with a food drive. You can donate grocery cards or non-perishables. Any assistance you can provide will let the young people know that people care about them.
Tesla Thanksgiving Needs
Thanksgiving is not that far away!  We are joining with Tesla to help 30 of their families with Thanksgiving and personal hygiene boxes. We need non-perishables, personal hygiene, and some clothing items. We will have a box in the Chapel for these items. Scripture Reading
CLM Twinkle Gordon

First Reading
Ephesians 6:14-18

Stand, therefore, and belt your waist with truth and put on the breastplate of righteousness and lace up your sandals in preparation for the gospel of peace. With all of these, take the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Pray in the Spirit at all times in every prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert and always persevere in supplication for all the saints.

Second Reading
Luke 22:66-71

When day came, the assembly of the elders of the people, both chief priests and scribes, gathered together, and they brought him to their council. They said, “If you are the Messiah, tell us.” He replied, “If I tell you, you will not believe, and if I question you, you will not answer. But from now on the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the power of God.” All of them asked, “Are you, then, the Son of God?” He said to them, “You say that I am.” Then they said, “What further testimony do we need? We have heard it ourselves from his own lips!”

Prayer for Illumination
Leader: May the words of my mouth,
People: and the meditations of all of our hearts
All: be acceptable in your sight, O Lord our rock and our redeemer.

Prayers of the People
Rev. David Petty

The Prayer of Jesus
Today, we have focused on how our persistence in prayer forms us to trust God as our strength and path for all our days. This last week of the series, we pray the Prayer of Jesus, the “Lord’s Prayer,” that he taught his disciples. We use our prayer beads to connection mind, heart, and hands. My prayer is that this prayer and any of the others during this series will persist in your own practice beyond our focus on it. In this time of contemplative music, prayer the prayer with your beads as many times as you like

Bead 1: Our Abba, God, who art in heaven

Bead 2: hallowed be thy name.

Bead 3: Thy kingdom come, they will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Bead 4: Give us this day our daily bread.

Bead 5: And forgive us our trespasses (or debts), as we forgive those who
trespass against us (or debtors).

Bead 6: Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Bead 7: For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever.

End Bead: Amen.

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father
who art in heaven,
hallowed be Thy Name;

Thy Kingdom come.
Thy will be done
on earth
as it is in heaven.

Give us this day
our daily bread,
and forgive us
our trespasses,

as we forgive those
who trespass against us.
Lead us not
into temptation
but deliver us from evil.

For Thine is the Kingdom,
and the Power
and the Glory forever.
Amen

Communion
Pastor: The Lord be with you.

People: And also with you.

Pastor: Lift up your hearts.

People: We lift them up to the Lord.

Pastor: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.

People: It is right to give our thanks and praise.

Pastor: It is right, and a good and joyful thing,
always and everywhere to give thanks to you,
Father Almighty (almighty God),
Creator of heaven and earth:
God of Abraham and Sarah,
God of Miriam and Moses,
God of Joshua and Deborah,
God of Ruth and David,
God of the priests and the prophets,
God of Mary and Joseph,
God of the apostles and the martyrs,
God of our mothers and our fathers,
God of our children to all generations.
And so, with your people on earth and all the company of heaven,
we praise your name and join their unending hymn:

People: Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might,
heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest.
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.

Pastor: Holy are you, and blessed is your Son Jesus Christ.
By the baptism of his suffering, death, and resurrection
you gave birth to your Church,
delivered us from slavery to sin and death,
and made with us a new covenant by water and the Spirit.

On the night in which he gave himself up for us, he took bread,
gave thanks to you, broke the bread, gave it to his disciples, and said:
"Take, eat; this is my body which is given for you.
Do this in remembrance of me."

When the supper was over he took the cup,
gave thanks to you, gave it to his disciples, and said:
"Drink from this, all of you; this is my blood of the new covenant,
poured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins.
Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me."
And so, in remembrance of these your mighty acts in Jesus Christ,
we offer ourselves in praise and thanksgiving
as a holy and living sacrifice, in union with Christ's offering for us,
as we proclaim the mystery of faith.

People: Christ has died; Christ is risen; Christ will come again.

Pour out your Holy Spirit on us gathered here,
and on these gifts of bread and wine.
Make them be for us the body and blood of Christ,
that we may be for the world the body of Christ, redeemed by his blood.

Renew our communion with all your saints,
especially those whom we name before you—

Ruth Hern                      Helen Bookman          Rodger Erickson          Jo Ann Peak
Laura Altmann             Loretta Chappell        Kenny Mulvaney

Silence may be kept for the remembrance of names.
Since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses,
strengthen us to run with perseverance the race that is set before us,
looking to Jesus, the Pioneer and Perfecter of our faith.

By your Spirit make us one with Christ,
one with each other, and one in ministry to all the world,
until Christ comes in final victory, and we feast at his heavenly banquet.
Through your Son Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit in your holy Church,
all honor and glory is yours, almighty Father God, now and for ever.

All: Amen.

All My Days

1. You know my words
before they’re said.
You know my need
and I am fed.

You give me life.
You know my ways,
my strength, my path,
for all my days,
my strength, my path,
for all my days.

2. If I should fly
beyond the dawn,
the darkness will
not overcome.

If I lie down
in deepest night,
still you are there,
my Lord, my light,
still you are there,
my Lord, my light.

3. Our every thought,
each word we say,
the whole of time,
the present day,

are held within
your mighty hand,
too wonderful
to comprehend,
too wonderful
to comprehend!

4. O mend my heart
and free my voice.
From sin released,
I will rejoice.

O search me, Lord,
my spirit cries,
and let my song
of praise arise,
and let my song
of praise arise!

*Benediction
