Helen G. Bookman, 97, passed away on March 19, 2026, of natural causes, in Colorado Springs. She was born on July 21, 1928, to Anderson and Lucille Schooley. She was very proud of the fact that she was a native of Colorado.

Helen graduated from Colorado Springs High School, now known as Palmer High School, and attended Colorado College, where she met her husband, Jack P. Bookman. They were married on June 25, 1949, and were married for 56 years until his death on December 20, 2005.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack; son, Ronald (Ron); brother, Keith; and sister, Doris.

She is survived by her son, Gary (Sharon) Bookman, and daughter, Karen Bookman. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Lisa Segree, Holly (Aaron) Darnell, and Jill Bookman; great-grandchildren: Andrew Segree, Lyla Segree, and Lincoln Darnell; and her two cats, Percy and Gypsy.

Per her request, there will not be a funeral. A memorial service will be held May 22, 2026 at 1:00 pm..
