Last week was Pentecost Sunday, often called the birthday of the church. After the arrival of the Holy Spirit, those in the early church lived in harmony as they shared their possessions with each other and learned from the apostles.

Seventeen years later, the Apostle Paul started a church in the city of Corinth. It didn’t take long for the harmony of the early church, described in the book of Acts, to digress into conflict and divisions. This Sunday, we will seek to find lessons for the often divided Christian church today from Paul’s letter to the divided church in Corinth.
